About

We are Troop 153 of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. St. John’s is conveniently located near 41st and Lewis.

Our Low Leader-to-Scout ratio ensures each Scout receives the attention required for advancement. Scouts are able to advance at their own pace, without being left behind by their peers.

Troop 153 is a “boy-led” Troop using the “patrol methods.” The Troop is divided into sub-units of 8-10 boys called Patrols. Every six months, the Scouts elect a new Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and Scribe. These three youth leaders along with the Patrol Leaders serve as the Scoutmaster’s Advisory Board and they run Troop 153. The Scoutmaster and an excellent group of dedicated and trained adult leaders support this group of young men in their Scouting decisions.

Troop 153 provides a positive and supportive atmosphere and focuses on each individual’s career – all the way to Eagle!

Resources available to the Troop include a sound financial foundation, camping gear, transportation, Troop trailer and the backing of an active committee and a supportive chartering organization.

Adventures We Have Taken
Philmont, Rocky Mountains High Adventure, Quivera, Devil’s Den State Park, Wichita Mountains, Turner Falls, Alabaster Caverns, Robber’s Cave State Park, Beaver Lake, Dripping Springs, Great Salt Plains, Glass Mountains, Barren Fork River, Boiling Springs, Whiterock State Park, Cedar Lake, Camp Garland, John Zink Ranch and Tom Hale Scout Reservation.

What We’ve Done
Scuba diving, caving, hiking, repelling, canoeing, white water rafting, bicycling, cross-country cycling, back packing, rock climbing, water skiing, kayaking, high altitude trekking, and have plans for more adventures.

Strong Leadership
We have an experienced team of adult leaders helping to instill character into young men. We always welcome new adult participation to help keep us strong in our mission.
